Papa's visit-Oct. 2008
(Long post; Lots of pictures)
Last week Bobby's dad and wife, Mary, came to visit us for the week. They had a timeshare in Bear Lake which is about 45 min. away so we didn't get to see them everyday but made the most of all the time we had together when we did. Tyler took to Papa right away which really surprised all of us! He is usually so shy around new people (the last time we saw them was when Tyler was about 2 mo. old)and takes awhile to get warmed up to them. But within minuets Tyler was his usually crazy self running around, singing at the top of his lungs, and showing off all his favorite toys. He wanted to be everywhere Papa was and he would only let Papa help him with his toys and play with him. Papa could get Tyler to bust up laughing at the simplest of things and Tyler was always trying to copy everything he said or did with his hands and face. It was so cute watching them together and I know Tyler misses them so much. The day after they left he just walked around the house saying "Papa? Papa? Papa?". He would go into all the rooms saying that like he thought maybe Papa was hiding from him. I tried to tell him that Papa had to go back to his home but he did NOT want to hear that, so I just told him that we would get to see him later. Here are some of the pictures I got from the time we spent with them.
We stayed the night with them one night in Bear Lake and their timeshare looked right out onto the beach (too bad it was too cold to go swimming!) which Tyler loved!!! He wanted to go out and play on the beach so bad, but none of us were willing to go out there...except Papa!
Papa and Mary spoiled us tons while they were here, taking us out to dinner ALL the time, and buying Tyler cute little gifts! They got him a small keyboard which is probably the most perfect gift anyone has ever given him! He pretends to play the piano on anything and everything; the couch, the floor, his blocks (he makes us build him a piano to play), the TV, etc. Everyone kept telling us we needed to get him a piano but we never got around to it. But there's no way Papa was going to let his most favorite grandson go through life without a piano! To say Tyler loved it would be an understatement! He will not stop playing it. We have to hide it just to get him to eat meals!
They also got him his very own T-O-T pumpkin filled with fun treats! (Notice the piano lying not more than 2 inch. from him...I wasn't kidding!)
A jar of mandarin oranges-his absolute favorite!!!
One night while they were here our apartment complex had a Halloween carnival that we went to so that they would get to see Tyler dressed up in his costume.
Tyler telling them what a bat says (EEEEK)
The Fam
Pumpkin Bowling
Trying to decide what to do next
Our little bat in front of The Batty Bistro
Trying to throw the bean bag into the ghost's mouth. As you can tell from the position of his hand it was a pretty unsuccessful attempt.
Tyler LOVES to play in the leaves outside and with Papa it's even better!
Later that night they treated us to Olive Garden (one of our most favorite restaurant's ever!!!) We got appetizer's, scrumptious meals, and THREE desserts to share between the four of us. Needless to say, I was in heaven and SO SO SO full! Tyler was entertained forever by Papa and his hat.
Thank you so much Papa and Mary for coming to visit us, we had SO much fun and can't wait to see you again!!

It looks like you guys had a good time, maybe Tyler will turn out to be some kind of musician. Between that and his blue eyes, the ladies won't be able to resist him!
What a cute little bat!! Nice to see pictures of Wendall. That's great they were able to come visit!!
I can't believe how big Tyler has gotten! Wow, he looks so much older. Did he get a haircut? Did I miss the post on that? Love staying in touch with you through your blog (even though I really am horrible at posting! I am glad you are much better!)
