Goblin???

Last night as I was running the water for Tyler's bath Bobby was supposed to be getting him undressed and ready to go. Then in walks Tyler...

It was actually a lot funnier than these pictures show. He walked in right up to me real slow with his head down so the hood was covering his face and then slowly raised his head so he could see me and just peers up at me with the one eye that was poking out. I was dying laughing!! Throw some scary music on and turn off the lights and I would have been screamin', he's one scary goblin!

5K

This morning Bobby ran the 5K at UVSC and he did SO good!!! He was just doing it for extra credit for a class, but he actually put a lot of effort into preparing for this over the past 2 weeks and it paid off! This is the first time he's ever run a race of any kind and he finished 75th out of about 400 people. He finished in 28 min, which was faster than he ran it in all his practice runs by several minuets (the fastest male time was 15 min., that is crazy fast!!!). And of course Tyler and I were right there at the finish line cheering him on as he came in, it was so fun! I was just BEAMING with pride. You go baby!

Happy Easter!

When we got home from church today we discovered that the Easter Bunny had left a present for Tyler!

(normally I would not ever give him this many presents for Easter, this was more of a combined birthday/Easter thing since we didn't get him any presents for his birthday last month)

He ran straight for his basket!

Holding up his basket for daddy.

He was showing me his m&m inside the egg (his FAVORITE candy).

He loved his big legos...

and his golf clubs...

...and his new bubble machine!

Dying Easter eggs

Tyler's special egg that daddy made for him.

All our eggs.

Tyler and daddy playing with the blocks.

We finished off our Easter sunday with a nice dinner of ham, creamy garlic red potatoes (which if I do say so myself, turned out fabulous-I got the recipe from allrecipes.com does anybody else use that website?) and rolls, with cheesecake for dessert (which I'd like to say I made, but I don't bake!).

I am so grateful for my sweet family and especially my Savior at this time of year. I wish you all a very Happy Easter!

A couple (ton) more...sorry for the overload!

I promise I won't bombard you with any more pictures of us after this! These were some of my other favorites from our session that Heather didn't post on her blog (link below).

I love that you can tell he's sucking on some candy (it was the only way we could make him sit for more than 2 sec. for a picture!)

I'm sorry there are so many of these I just can't pick a favorite! I think I'm going to do a storyboard with them. Heather had some cute examples on her website and I can't wait!

AND...we're out!

Ten...

I've been tagged to do this a couple times and I thought I'd already done this one, but I haven't so here ya go! (this specific tag was from Alissa-thanks!)

I was a 14 year old freshman in high school. I was a cheerleader and was not as nice to people as I should have been. I was attending early morning seminary, which I enjoyed going to because I could gossip with Haley and flirt with boys. I now can't imagine waking up at 5:00 am EVERY DAY for 4 years for anything!!! Those boys must have been extra cute!

5 Places I've visited...
Switzerland
France
Italy (my favorite)
England
Spain

5 Things I enjoy....
Dancing with my friends (we need to sign up for a new class)
Eating Girl Scout cookies
Blogging
Laughing with my husband
Watching Tyler grow up

3 bad habits...
Not calling people back
Bitting my nails
Watching reality shows

5 things you may not know about me...
I enjoy math
I hate rollercoasters
I love going out to eat
I met my hubby while working at Radioshack...we now call it "Loveshack"
I won some prizes on The Price is Right

BLAH!

So we caught the flu bug and it has been nothing but gross in our house this weekend! Sat. night around 7:00 Bobby said his stomach was feeling a little gross and went to bed. I went to bed around 10:00 still feeling totally fine, just to be awakened at midnight with an incredible pain in my stomach. I couldn't even lay in bed it was hurting so bad so I went and sat in the bathroom and sure enough lunch and dinner came back to pay me a visit (orange chicken and honey-nut Cheerios are NOT a good mix). While I'm doing my business in the toilet, in runs Bobby and distributes his business in the sink, we were quite the sight I'm sure. So off and on all Sat. night Bobby and I took turns having involuntary seconds of food. I spent most of the night on the bathroom floor, which turns out is not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be.

When Tyler woke up Sun. morning we both just looked at each other and groaned because neither of us had any energy to get him out of bed and feed him breakfast. It's just not fair for BOTH of us to be sick and not be able to take care of our baby. Fortunately, my sister came over for awhile to play with him so we could get a little rest. Unfortunately, thinking it was just food poisoning from our previous days' encounter with the food court in the mall we weren't too worried about keeping any distance from Tyler, which of course turned out to be a mistake.

As sun. night rolled around Bobby and I both started to feel a lot better which was good since we had already made an appointment to get family pictures taken Mon. morning up in West Jordan with a photographer driving down from Logan. After we say prayers together, Bobby leaves and I rock Tyler and sing him primary songs for a couple min., and as I was rocking him he threw up ALL over me. Down my shirt, in my hair, ear, and all over himself. It was by far the grossest thing that has ever happened to me! Now that he's eating all sorts of food the texture and smell was disgusting. He threw up every 30 min. for the next couple hours and finally fell back to sleep at midnight and didn't throw up again all night. Which was good because we were out of clean blankets to wrap him in!

This morning, miraculously, we all woke up feeling great! Tyler was running around the house laughing and playing with his toys, so we decided to go ahead and take the family pictures that I was just minuets from cancelling. I don't know what kind of bug we had, but I'm so glad it's gone!

"Womenisms"

I got these in an email and thought some of them were cute so I'm sharing.

WOMEN'S REVENGE
'Cash, check or charge?' I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.
As she fumbled for her wallet , I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
'So, do you always carry your TV remote?' I asked.
'No,' she replied, 'but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally.'

CIGARETTES AND TAMPONS
A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up & down the aisles. The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him. He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife. She directs him down the correct aisle. A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter. She says, confused, 'Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife? He answers, 'You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooo-ooo--oo-ooo much cheaper. So, I figure if I have to roll my own .......... so does she.
WIFE VS HUSBAND
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, 'Relatives of yours?' 'Yep,' the wife replied, 'in-laws.'
THE SILENT TREATMENT
A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, 'Please wake me at 5:00 AM .' He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM . Wake up.' Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

It pays to be nice!

Last night I went to get my hair done (cut/color-I didn't post a picture because it really doesn't look that different, just a little more...fresh). My appointment was at 6:30 and I was about 5 min. early. I walked in and there was nobody getting there hair done, just 3 stylist sitting at the front desk talking. I told them I had an appointment and they start whispering behind the desk about something that I couldn't hear and then one of them turns back to me and asks if I can come back in 30 min. I was a little bugged because if someone else needed a haircut at the same time MY appt. was, why didn't one of the other 3 girls who were doing NOTHING do it! And it's not like I was a new, walk-in customer or anything, I've been going her for 3 years! However, I'm not one to demand things be done a certain way...okay Bobby would probably disagree, but he's not here so...I tell them it's not a big deal and leave. Really, it's nice to get out of the house and have a couple hours to myself, and since my salon is in the mall having 30 extra min. to shop is NOT a problem!

I go back at 7:00 and there is still nobody in the salon and the same 3 girls are sitting up at the desk chatting. Whatever! So she takes me back to put my smock on and explains to me what happened. I guess right before I walked in Marie Osmond had called and asked MY stylist to cut a couple of her boys hair. She said she was totally caught off gaurd by it because she doesn't know who would have referred her to Marie, and she said yes without really thinking about it. As she's explaining this to me in walks Marie to pay for her boys haircuts, she is SOOO stinkin' skinny! I know she said she lost a lot of weight during Dancing with the Stars, but wow! She is so pretty!

Anyway, so my stylist felt really bad about giving me the boot, and kept apologizing and telling me how nice I was about the whole thing. She said if it had been her she would have demanded an explanation, so she really appreciated that I was so easy going about it. Like I said, couple extra min. to myself, NOT a problem! And then at the end of my cut she gave me a shampoo and conditioner ($27.00 value) for free! Which happens to work out perfectly since I just ran out! Hmmm, pays (litteraly) to be nice!

Leap Day!

So I know Leap Day was yesterday, but I have to make a shout out to my awesome friend Jaime who gave me a Leap Day present! She brought me some salsa from Harmon's, (my absolute, absolute, absolute favorite!!!!) and it wasn't a dinky little jar, it was a HUGE container of it along with a HUGE bag of chips! I didn't even realize it was Leap Day, until she came over! I have the best friends!!
