This summer we went to Luna, NM for the Bricker family reunion. Tyler was about 5 mo. old and what should have been a short trip turned out to be the longest drive of my life!!! I do not recommend traveling by car with a baby.

TAG you're it...if you want to do it!

Play toy?!

I usually keep the bathroom doors closed during the day because Tyler likes to pull all the toilet paper off the roll, open the toilet lid and throw foreign objects inside and pull out everything in the cupboards. As I was cooking dinner tonight Tyler was wandering around the house and it had been a couple minuets since I heard him (which is very unusual, he's always playing right under my feet while I cook) so I called his name and...well I guess I slipped up and forgot to close the bathroom door because out walked Tyler, just like this!

Hopefully one day I can hold this picture as blackmail! :)

"What mom, I can't play with this?!"

Mama Bear

Tyler has had MANY bumps and bruises but they have all been self-inflicted until today. Tyler was walking around in the gym today at church when some little kid walked right up behind him and pushed him (intentionally)in the head and Tyler fell smack on his face and now has a large (like bigger than a quarter size) bump on his forehead. It took everything in me not to grab the kid and give him a good smack. His mother was standing right there and didn't do anything!!! Not even an apology to Tyler or me! I didn't really see myself as the "mama bear" type, but that made me so mad! GRRRRRR!

Happy 1st Birthday Tyler

My little baby turned 1 on Feb. 17.

I can't believe it's already been a year!!!

To celebrate we let him dig in to his own cake. Only problem was, he didn't want to! Amanda invited 4 guys she was with for the weekend over and they had REALLY loud voices and I think Tyler was a little bit intimidated by that. If there would have been less people I think he would have been more excited about the cake. You can't see it very well on the video (which I will later post-I've been trying to upload it for days now, which is why this post is so late, and I can't get it to work so it has turned into a Bobby project) but at the beginning when we're singing Happy Birthday Tyler was SO freaked out and was just staring at the guys so we were all busting up laughing at him, poor kid!

Before-

After- we just ended up giving him a fork and then he really went at it.

My Grandma's birthday was on Thur. so we did a joint celebration. Isn't she SOOOO cute!

Alisa's baby shower

Alisa is due in 6 weeks and she had her baby shower this weekend. She had about 18 people attend and made out REALLY well with gifts!!! It was the funnest baby shower I have ever been too! I usually HATE all the games they play, but my mom is so fun and creative and thought of some really cute ones!

Just for example, one of my favorites was the baby matching game. (sorry no pictures) It's just like any other matching game you play where you guess a number and have to remember which words are under which number and try to find a match! And whenever you find a match you get a candy that coincides with that word. Like, when someone found the match "breast-feeding" they won a Milky Way candy bar. And so on and so on.

Here are just a few pictures. Halfway through Tyler woke up from a nap and I had to go take care of him so I didn't get very many.

Yummy food!

Another game where each person had to cut off a piece of string and guess the size of her tummy.

Parade of Homes

So this past weekend Tyler and I made the trek down to St. George for the first time by ourselves. Unfortunately Bobby couldn't come because he had A LOT of homework to catch up on so he wasn't able to celebrate Tyler's birthday with us (Sun. Feb. 17) :( . The main reason we went down was for Alisa's baby shower and for the parade of homes. (Pictures of birthday and baby shower to come...)

Every year St. George has what's called the Parade of Homes over Pres. day weekend, where about 26 GORGEOUS houses that have sold or are for sale are open for the public to view. They are fully furnished and decorated with everything from casitas, to home gyms, to theaters, to bowling alleys. They are incredible and I found myself wishing I was very, very, very rich!!! :) We got to see 13 of the 26 houses during the time I was there (Fri-Tues), and here are some pictures. My camera battery died before we saw the majority of the houses so these are just from the first 2 or 3. If you can blow any of these up to see more detail, do!

House #1
Pool

Spa that trickles down into the pool

Back patio seating area next to the pool-complete with couches, fireplace, bbq pit, flat screen TV, etc.

Outside dining table

Home gym-this was my favorite room in this house, it was SO COOL! And of course, off to the side was a sauna! (not pictured)

Three sides of the room had floor-to-ceiling mirrors-talk about motivation to work out!

The one wall that wasn't mirrors

The Ferrari that comes with the house!

A small section of the garage

House #2-this one was 21,000 sq. feet so there are LOTS of pics. Also, this house was purchased before it was built so everything in it is 100% custom designed (approx. $4,000,000)
